I am a certified massage practitioner for Swedish/Esalen Massage. But I have always been interested in deep tissue massage. I first purchased Art Riggs' Deep Tissue Massage manual, and was thoroughly enthralled with it's excellence. So I eagerly awaited his release of the videos. For certain, the book pales in comparison to the videos. For half the amount of money I would have spent on an advanced deep tissue class, I now have his videos that I can watch innumerable times. Seeing Art doing the bodywork 'live' is like having a never-ending massage course that I can attend over and over, in the convenience of my own studio. Art Riggs's instruction and demonstration is of the highest quality. He is extremely enjoyable to watch and listen to. The close-up camera shots make it very easy to see even subtle moves. I highly recommend these videos for those like myself who are new to the massage business, all the way up to those who have been in the business for decades like Art. I have received totally enthusiastic responses from my clients for the moves I have been putting into practice. Although I do not own a DVD player, these videos are also available in that format, which makes it very easy to follow the manual that is included to find exactly the part of the body you wish to view.

Do not hesitate to purchase this video/DVD set! It is well worth the money and I find myself referring back to it again and again. The instruction is easy to follow and professionally produced with good camera angles and good sound quality. Best of all, the material presented is thorough and extremely useful. After viewing (and re-viewing) the set, I felt as though I had spent days attending in-person training sessions with the added benefit of being able to go back and review at any time. Art has an excellent teaching style and it is obvious that he has a passion for his work which comes through in the videos. I had to think twice about making the investment, but I'm sure glad I did!

I am a licensed massage therapist and I purchased Art Riggs's Deep Tissue Massage Manual about a year ago and loved it, but really needed to see what was being explained in the book. I had very high hopes for the DVDs and was not disappointed - rather the opposite. They exceed my expectations. Mr. Riggs is an enjoyable instructor to watch, as well as extremely skilled and knowledgeable. It is apparent his goal is to help massage therapists become well-informed and successful practitioners. Cultivating touch, anatomy review, biomechanics, and working with injuries - together with hours of excellent demonstrations of applied techniques, you can't go wrong with this set. These videos move at a very comfortable pace, each building upon the next. The DVD format is ideal for easy reference. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and highly recommend this set to recent graduates of massage therapy programs as well as longtime practicing massage therapists.

It is absolutely full of not only specific techniques to expand my skills, but also demonstrates the subtleties of touch and theory that actually qualitatively change the way that I work. We've always strived to give our clients a feeling of expertise that separates us from the perception of generic spa massage. One of the main reasons I bought the DVDs for, is to look at treatment from a different perspective. These videos are better than the classes it took for me to obtain my licenses to practice massage therapy. These videos are very good for anyone seriously wanting to be a great therapist. It does not matter if you are not wanting to do deep tissue you will still be rewarded with knowledge and techniques to enhance your therapy sessions. Just having the ability to study and review the videos over and over is great. I need to see techniques performed, as well as hands on, in order to successfully understand the best practice in my session for each client. This has been the best investment for my business.

Hopefully if anyone is debating getting these please know that, it is WELL worth the money. I always heard great things about Art Riggs from instructors at my school, and I've read his deep tissue book which was really good also...but he really knows his stuff! Not only that, he's very good at explaining things in a way thats easy to understand and he covers
so much information and gives so many tips its amazing.

Beyond FantasticI'm a recent grad of a 1200 hour accredited massage therapy school. I've only watched part of the first video in this series and have learned much more about palpation skills than my entire time in school! This is not a “cookie cutter” approach to body work. Good for the professional massage therapist.I work in a day spa, so typically am not able to build a relationship with clients to work on problems consistently, but this series has allowed me to work on problems for clients who have had a consistent problem that they get massage for and I can get effective work done for them in my one session with them. An incredibly valuable resourceI have been working in a spa-type setting for over 15 years. I just started watching these videos, little by little every time I get a chance, especially before I go to work. They have absolutely changed the way that I work. Don't get me wrong, my clients loved my massage. But now, I look at the body in a completely different way, testing the tissue as I go along, and addressing issues that I feel under my hands. Art Riggs is a gentle and engaging teacher. These videos have opened up my work and it is so much the better for it.

Fantastic!It would take many pages to give this item the praise it deserves, but I will sum it up by saying this is a fantastic resource for any therapist who is serious about deep tissue massage, whether they are just learning or already experienced in this.
